Title: Human Resources Leader

Minimum requirements:
• National Higher Diploma/degree in HR Management
• At least 10 years’ experience as HR generalist of which 5 years would be at management level within the mining industry
• English proficiency
• Computer literacy
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence

• Relevant postgraduate qualification in HR Management

Operation: Kalgold - Mafikeng

Role and responsibilities:
• Ensure that the HR management systems, processes, policies, procedures, and agreements are in place and aligned with operational  requirements to meet the short- and long-term HR demands of the operation
• Ensure the effective management of the total HR function at the operation, ie Labour Management, Training & Development, ER, Bobebe, SLP, Employment Equity and Hostels
• Ensure alignment between Human Resources initiatives (Group and Operational) and strategies and operational objectives and practices
• Ensure data integrity of HR systems including Empower

• Continuously challenge the status quo of current practices to promote efficient HR service delivery that will add optimal value to the day-to day operation of the Mine
• Comply with applicable legislation and defined Group HR policies, systems, standards, execution of the Group HR strategy and the 
development of relevant HR strategies at the operation
• Compile, revise, update and implement HR standards in conjunction with the Group HR Leader and the General Manager
• Manage the total labour and hostel budget within given guidelines
• Plan, organise, lead and control all operational HR-related activities and ensure liaison with relevant internal and external stakeholders is established, maintained and entrenched
• Ensure sound labour relations and effective communication practices with recognised labour unions and associations are established, maintained and improved
• Monitor and promote primary healthcare services to ensure highquality employee wellness
• Be responsible for his/her own safety as well as for others, according to the Mine Health and Safety Act.
