Blue Diamond Mines Pty Ltd – t/a Koffiefontein Diamond Mine

Koffiefontein Diamond Mine is based in the town of Koffiefontein, located 100km from Kimberley and 136km from Bloemfontein.

Plant Manager
The incumbent will manage and coordinate the metallurgical operational activities of a process or plant to ensure optimum recovery according to operational requirements or organisational objectives and sound metallurgical practice.
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Control the preparation of production records and reports • Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel • Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, policies and plans • Ensure that areas of risk are identified and processes are established to manage these risks • Coordinate and administrate the implementation of process changes to ensure the attainment of production targets and ensure optimum process efficiencies • Direct the execution of the production maintenance strategy through the provision of appropriate structures, systems and resources • Direct, coordinate and integrate all technical aspects of projects in accordance with project requirements • Ensure that the relevant risks and hazards are identified and managed through Risk Assessments, procedures, COPs • Evaluate processes, systems, products or new developments to identify opportunities and deficiencies to ensure continuous improvement • Perform risk evaluations within design of systems, equipment and products • Be responsible to ensure the achievement of production objectives by incorporating all relevant factors such as organisational requirements and the utilisation of resources • Implement process maintenance standards, specifications and service levels in conjunction with Engineering Department.

Minimum requirements: • B degree: Chemical Mineral Processing Engineer or BTech Extraction Metallurgy • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a mineral processing environment of which at least 5 years at Senior Metallurgist level • Senior Management Development Programme • Finance Management for Non-Financial Managers will be an advantage • Valid driver’s licence • Advanced computer literacy (MS Office suite).
