Our Mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
Housing Clerk of Works (C2) (1 Position)
(Ref. DCM/HR/HCW)
The successful applicant will report to the HR Superintendent or nominee.
Minimum educational requirements: • Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate with Mathematics & Science • Millwright/Electrical Trade Certificate with minimum N4 • Code 08 (EB) driver’s licence • Advantageous: Electrical Wiremen’s Licence • Advantageous: Building, Construction, Civil Engineering, and Plumbing Certificate • Advantageous: Supervisory Certificate.
Experience (including but not limited to): • At least 5 years’ Millwright/Electrical experience in the Building, Civils/Construction and Maintenance environment • At least 2 years’ (included in the 5 years’ Millwright/Electrical experience) practical supervisory experience.
Duties (including but not limited to): • Safely and effectively manage the DCM housing assets, projects and maintenance in line with the functional requirements in order to meet business objectives • Delegate, coordinate, oversee and control the maintenance, repairs and project work, effectively manage relevant contractors/service providers, ensure quality control, and monitor contracts and related jobs • Conduct mini-risk assessments based on issue-based risk assessment prior to commencing any task • Manage housing and property maintenance • Develop a trusting and mutual respect relationship with internal, external stakeholders, service providers and local municipal agents to ensure effective cooperation and collaboration • Assume responsibility for coordinating housing-related maintenance • Control equipment availability • Ensure that contractors/service providers exercise efficient stock control and timeous availability of spares and materials • Coordinate housing and infrastructure improvement projects where applicable • Make recommendations in respect of appropriate principles/methodologies to be followed • Ensure all projects are performed to standard • Obtain services of subject matter experts when needed • Manage contractors and service providers • Plan and schedule asset care • Ensure good housekeeping at all times • Ensure that technical information, data and records are accurate and precise.
