Job Description

The Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA) is one of the 21 Sector
Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) established in accordance with the Skills Development Act, No 97 of 1998 (SDA). PSETA seeks to employ a suitably qualified person to the following position:
Chief Executive Officer
Salary: The cost to company within the salary range is equivalent to the
Director-General in the Public Service, as per clause 7 of the Regulations for
the Conditions of Service and Appointment of the CEOs of SETAs
Hatfield, Pretoria

Providing effective professional leadership, the CEO is accountable for developing and implementing the PSETA strategy aligned to legal and mandatory requirements, directing the development of long-term objectives, policies, budgets and operating plans for the SETA to preserve stakeholder value, as well as ensuring good corporate governance.
Responsibilities: • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to ensure accountability and sound corporate governance in relation to development and implementation of the organisational strategy • Ensure that the entity complies with legislative and regulatory frameworks • Ensure effective stakeholder management and engagement • Manage Corporate Governance and Control Systems • Lead a motivated team to advance employee engagement, as well as high-performing managerial team.
Requirements: • A postgraduate degree (NQF 8) or equivalent in Business Administration or Public Administration. A Master’s degree (NQF 9) in Business Administration or Public Administration would be an added advantage • 8-10 years’ experience at Senior Management level, of which at least 3 years must have been within any organ of State as defined in the Constitution, Act 108 of 1996 • An understanding of the South African Public Service Sector • A strong understanding of the PFMA, SDA, SDLA and other relevant legislation • A strong understanding of organisational performance management • Experience in a SETA environment and public entity would be advantageous.
