Kimberley Ekapa Mining JV (KEM-JV) is a joint venture between Ekapa Minerals (Pty) Ltd, Super Stone Mining (Pty) Ltd and Crown Resources (Pty) Ltd (Petra Diamonds) and is situated in the City of Kimberley in the Northern Cape.

Cost, Financial and Production Accountant

The successful candidate will perform financial, production and management accounting functions at the Operation.
Tasks and responsibilities: • Analyse, control and manage information by using appropriate accounting techniques and systems to determine and recommend alternatives to ensure viability and profitability for current and future scenarios • Consolidate all management information in order to prepare and process total Mine presentations monthly/quarterly and for the budget and forecast process • Consolidate and prepare all costing budget, forecast and management information to Head Office and Management: Monthly, quarterly and annually • Consolidate and report on monthly capital expenditure variances • Coordinate and compile quarterly capital requirements for Head Office • Coordinate and consolidate the analyses and interpret variance, budget, forecast and costs reports in order to evaluate actual performance against plans and the effects of external factors on costs • Coordinate and ensure the processing of internal and external ad hoc queries • Coordinate and manage the finalisation and accumulation of costing information to make adjustments • Coordinate the process of closing and balance the financial records at month- and period end (Income Statement) • Deliver on all financial deliverables and reporting requirements as per agreed deadlines • Ensure adherence to legislative and corporate governance compliance requirements to manage risk and consequences of non-compliance • Ensure data integrity of information on the AccPac, VIP and E-Workflow systems • Ensure effective cash flow management to ensure attainment of organisational targets • Ensure personal and co-worker adherence to and compliance with security and SHE objectives • Ensure that appropriate reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in order to ensure correct recording of cost and balance sheet balances • Initiate, develop, implement, streamline and maintain the necessary financial strategies, policies and procedures • Lead and manage the financial, payroll and procurement team through hands-on management and applying industry best practices • Manage payroll and/or HR errors that have occurred during interfacing operations after the final payroll run • Play an integral part in the operational performance of the Mine by providing a complete and fully functional financial service to all stakeholders • Prepare and present applicable financial information and reports to HODs and Management • Provide a service to all workflow users on a daily basis • Provide support and assistance to all AccPac modules and coordinate and handle all system-related queries on all modules within the AccPac and E-Workflow system • Assist with the preparation and assistance of the auditing process • Liaise and provide a service to budget holders and HODs on a daily basis • Manage all systems-related issues (on-mine and external consultants) • Play an integral role on the Management Team and together drive operational performance and achieve approved operational deliverables and targets • Review capital expenditure and forecasts to ensure alignment with business strategy to optimise return on investment.
Minimum requirements: • A BCom degree (Accounting) • 5 years’ experience in a cost, financial, production accountant role • Experience in a mining environment will be an advantage • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite; advanced Excel – please indicate on your CV) • A valid driver’s licence.
