Job Description

Our mechanised mining operation, situated around 60km from Lydenburg and 25km from Steelpoort in Mpumalanga Province, is a member of ARM (African Rainbow Minerals) and one of the world-class Platinum producers.

Candidates must hold a National Diploma, Electrical Engineering Light Current (N6/T3/S3), Instrumentation Trade Certificate and at least 3 years’ experience in a mining environment as a Technician. Registration with ECSA will be an advantage, while sound knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC, solid experience of Scada systems, valid Red Ticket and valid Code 08 driver’s licence are essential.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the GES: Mechanical, the incumbent will: • Perform routine maintenance on instrumentation • Maintain the Scada, PLC, Communications, SACO (T&A) systems as well as general instrumentation • Be involved in the installation and implementation of new projects • Draw up maintenance procedures and standards • Supervise subordinates • Perform standby duties (all sections).

The successful candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996.
