Kimberley Ekapa Mining JV (KEM-JV) is a joint venture between Ekapa Minerals (Pty) Ltd, Super Stone Mining (Pty) Ltd and Crown Resources (Pty) Ltd (Petra Diamonds) and is situated in the City of Kimberley in the Northern Cape.
Mine Overseer: Development
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving set targets in a safe, quality and cost-effective manner.
Tasks and responsibilities: • Assess the quality of work performed • Interact with all mining disciplines • Drive production and maintenance • Track projects against plans, ie monitor project schedules and resource allocations • Ensure maintenance management system is in place • Develop and maintain a document management system to ensure efficient storage and access of information • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice and report any observations of this not being done • Ensure adherence to and compliance with SHEQ.
Minimum requirements: • A Grade 12 • A Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous Mining) • A Permanent Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite) • A valid driver’s licence • 3 years’ experience as a Shift Boss in an underground mine (please indicate on CV) • 3 years’ development experience in a kimberlite mine (please indicate on CV) • Experience in a project environment would be an advantage (please indicate on CV).
Other skills/competencies: • Managerial/supervisory experience • Good written and verbal communication skills in English • The ability to evaluate mine plans and designs • Knowledge of mining law • The ability to cost mining projects and layouts and conduct financial evaluations.
