Finsch Diamond Mine
Finsch Diamond Mine is located in the town of Lime Acres which is situated 160km north west of Kimberley and 109km south of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
Mine Overseer: Sub-level Caving
Reporting to the Section Manager, the incumbent will be required to oversee the mining aspects and activities of long-hole drilling and blasting work in the Mining Production Department.
Task and responsibilities: • Interact with all mining disciplines • Drive production and maintenance • Monitor project schedules and resource allocations • Ensure maintenance management system is in place • Develop and maintain a document management system to ensure efficient storage and access of information • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice and report deviations • Assess the quality or work performed by contractors • Ensure adherence to and compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental processes.
Minimum requirements: • Mine Overseer’s or Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous Mining) • Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines • At least 5 years’ underground mining experience • 3 years’ underground mining experience in a supervisory capacity • Block cave mining/sub-level caving experience will be an advantage – please specify on your CV • Valid driver’s licence • Competent in MS Office suite.
