We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and suitably qualified professional to assume the position of
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)
The organisation needs a dynamic development professional who will lead the strategic repositioning of the organisation and ensure the strategic development and successful implementation of all Soul City Institute programme interventions, in accordance with the short-, medium- and long-term strategic objectives of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include: • Leading a dynamic team of programme implementers to ensure that all programmes are implemented according to agreed indicators • Continuous strategy development • Financial management to ensure that all programmes are implemented in a cost-effective manner according to approved budgets • Stakeholder management with international donors, national and local stakeholders • Governance • Resource mobilisation.
Requirements: • Postgraduate or equivalent qualification in any development field, law, public health education, management, public health, social science or social work • At least 10 years’ experience in the health/law and/or development sector • At least
5 years’ senior management experience, including managing teams • At least 5 years’ experience managing budgets and finances in excess of R10 million per annum • Extensive experience in writing donor reports • Extensive experience in writing donor proposals and securing funds in excess of R10 million • Experience in negotiating with national government and/or global organisations at a leadership level.
