Permanent Position
Department: Office of the City Manager
Branch: Special Projects
Director: Strategy
Salary range: R51 441.74 per month (basic salary excluding benefits)

Educational requirements and experience:
• Relevant degree (Built Environment, Urban Planning, and Urban Management)/NQF level 7 or necessary competencies developed through experience • 5 years’ relevant management experience, of which 2 must have been relevant senior management experience • Total of 10 years’ experience • Preferably a good background in Local Government, precinct-based planning, Inner City regeneration, stakeholder management, urban management and project management.
Job description:
The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and leadership in the Inner City and project management service in the City, by ensuring that an acceptable level of area-based management services are rendered and to direct, manage and coordinate all administrative and operational activities thus ensuring that the Department meets the goals and objectives of the Special Projects function of the City. In addition, he/she will provide the overall management of the City improvement districts, Ntirhisano (Premier’s War Room) implementation, area-based special projects, implementation of the Inner City Transformation Roadmap, investment and economic regeneration and development in the City in the most effective and efficient manner.
