Assistant Manager: ICT
Salary: R458 967.54 per annum (Post Level 02, subject to job evaluation)
plus transport allowance based on 750km per month
Requirements: • A B degree in IT or equivalent • A minimum of 3 years’ related technical experience, preferably in Windows
and a UNIX environment • Knowledge of Windows and Natural Adabas database administration • Knowledge of IT networks and
security • Sound knowledge and background in backup procedures and software tools • General knowledge of SQL • Web
applications experience • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues as well as
escalation for complex web-based applications • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, business and technical judgement skills • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Critical thinking skills and a mature approach to troubleshooting are critical.
Main duties: • Maintain and monitor general backups using HP Data Protector and VEAAM software • Assist in support and
maintenance of Backups, Venus, e-Venus, Cash Drawer, Payday and electricity vending systems • Perform up-keeping on the
Disaster Recovery Plan and maintain backup routines (Data Centre Operations) • Monitor the functioning of the firewall • Work
with business owners to evaluate and test impact of bug fixes, new function and version releases • Assist in the development
and delivery of an end-user training programme for the supported applications and processes • Develop and maintain
procedures and documentation for administrative support of the systems • Monitor and implement changes to improve system
performance and ensure data integrity.
