Human Resources Executive (5-year fixed-term contract)
The Human Resources Executive (HRE) will lead and manage the Human Resources function in the organisation, and be responsible for the development
and implementation of a long-term Human Resources Strategy for NSFAS.The incumbent will be responsible for driving a performance culture in the HR
division and directing a team of Human Resources Specialists to ensure successful delivery of Human Resources function. Furthermore, the individual must
be able to display visionary and innovative leadership as it relates to HR practices. The incumbent will form part of the Executive Management Team and
reports directly to the Executive Officer.
Some key performance areas will be identifying key learning needs to support business design and also addressing skills development. He/she must have
leadership acumen that hold all line of management accountable for performance and talent management. The successful candidate will ensure that change
capability is in place to lead and facilitate initiatives as well as ensure people policies and practices are in place to drive a high-performance organisation and
business objectives, alongside developing and implementing employee relations strategy, plans and managing a relationship with the unions.
He/she will have the responsibility to work with the Board, Executive Officer, executive leadership team and all employees to execute and accomplish the
goals/metrics of the strategic plan.
It is expected that the HRE will be an individual who is skilled in all general Human Resources functions as well as the Specialist functions, whilst having
proven abilities in leadership, strategic plan development as it relates to HR practices and visibility to support the goals of NSFAS. While managing NSFAS’s
overall activities, he/she will foster an environment of accountability, excellence, collaboration, and innovation among the staff and will demonstrate fiscal
Minimum requirements: • A postgraduate degree in Human Resources or related field • A minimum of 5 years’ as HR Executive • Knowledge and broad
understanding of the management of human capital as a means of achieving business strategies • Demonstrate an understanding of governance and human
resources metrics • Solid experience in change management with a proven track record of leading within an organisation undergoing transformational
change • Knowledge and experience on having worked in an organisation that has gone through a massive change in business model/operation.
